Caragh Maxwell

Caragh Maxwell is an Irish novelist, poet, and essayist best known for her debut novel Sugartown, published in 2025, which explores themes of return, family, and self-reconciliation.

Caragh Maxwell was born in 1994 in Mullingar, Ireland, and grew up in a small-town environment. She studied at St Finian’s College, then pursued a MPhil in Creative Writing at Trinity College Dublin, completing it in 2023. Before focusing on fiction, she worked professionally for eight years as an online content writer, producing essays, poems, and stories, and was published in The Irish TimesThe Cormorant, and other outlets.
