Chris Pavone is an American author of international thrillers. His first novel was The Expats, released in 2012. It became an international bestseller, winning both the Anthony and Edgar Awards for Best First Novel. His novels have appeared on bestseller lists including New York Times and USA Today, are in development for Hollywood projects, and have been translated into two dozen languages.
Pavone was born and brought up in New York City. After graduating from Cornell University in 1989, he worked for several years in various positions at several publishing houses. After almost two decades as a copy editor, editor, and publisher, he began focusing on his own writing career.
Pavone is married to Madeline McIntosh and has twin sons. He lives with his family in New York City.
