Elaine Garvey is from County Sligo, Ireland. Her short stories have been published in The Dublin Review and Winter Papers. Her first novel, The Wardrobe Department, was published by Canongate in February 2025. She began writing the novel on a Stinging Fly fiction-writing course with Sean O’Reilly and continued it under the Words Ireland mentorship programme with Danielle McLaughlin.
