Helen Kellock is an award-winning illustrator and writer based in Glasgow, Scotland. At the heart of her practice is a love of drawing, narrative, and making picture books.  

After studying Fine Art and English Literature as an undergraduate, Helen returned to the Glasgow School of Art to study a Masters in Illustration where she graduated in 2018 with a Distinction and the Chairman’s Medal for Design. In 2019 she took part in the Picture Hook programme, during which time she was mentored by Maisie Paradise Shearring and went on to win the Picture Hook Illustrator of the Year Award. Helen’s debut picture book, The Star in the Forest, published with Thames and Hudson, is out now. Her second book, Out to Sea, is available for preorder now.

Helen is happy to visit schools, libraries, and colleges, and has a range of workshops and events that she can offer for both children and adults. She is registered with Live Literature Scotland.
