John C. McLucas is a Baltimorean by adoption and lives in Bolton Hill with his dog and two cats – all of whom have Italian names. Dialogues on the Beach is his first novel; a sequel, Spirit’s Tether, came out in November 2020 from BrickHouse Books.
He is Professor Emeritus of Italian and Latin at Towson University in Baltimore. For twenty years he also taught Italian language, diction, and repertory to voice students at Peabody Conservatory. In addition to his scholarly articles and translations, he has published poetry and short fiction in English and Italian. He is an elder in the Presbyterian Church and a classically trained singer.
