John Wood Sweet is a Professor of History and former Director of the Program in Sexuality Studies at the University of North Carolina. His most recent book is THE SEWING GIRL’S TALE (2022)—which was featured on the cover of the New York Times Book Review. He grew up in Concord, Massachusetts, went to Amherst College, and earned his Ph.D. at Princeton University. His work has been supported by numerous fellowships, prizes, and other honors. He lives in Chapel Hill.
