Neil King Jr.

Neil King Jr. is a journalist and writer who lives in an old house in Washington DC, thus defying 10 generations of his family’s westward migration.

He grew up in Colorado but studied in Chicago and New York City. He graduated with a degree in philosophy from Columbia University. The thousands of miles he drove as a New York cab driver formed the deeper half of his college education.

He traveled and wrote in dozens of countries during two decades as a reporter and writer for The Wall Street Journal. He was part of the WSJ team that won a Pulitzer Prize for its coverage of 9/11.

He founded and edits Gotham Canoe, an online publication devoted to life beyond doors and walls. He spends as much of each summer as possible with his family on the outer tip of Cape Breton Island.
