Olivier Norek, born in 1975 in Toulouse, is a French writer and screenwriter, former captain of the judicial police in Seine-Saint-Denis.
His novels, mainly detective novels, deal with politically and socially engaged themes: the fate of migrants in the “Calais jungle”, ecoterrorism. He is the author of the Victor Coste tetralogy.
With his novel Les Guerriers de l’hiver about Simo Häyhä, a Finnish sniper during the Second World War, Olivier Norek has won the 2024 Jean Giono Prize and the 2024 Renaudot Prize for High School Students.
