Murder mysteries set in the time of the Roman Republic and Empire

There are many sub-genres of murder mysteries. One of my favorite genres are murder mysteries set in Ancient Rome. I am going to list some of my favorite authors with a link to a page for each author with a list of their books and where possible You Tube videos and interviews with that author.

These authors are listed in order of the dates the books are set.

Steven Saylor – 45 B.C. Roman Republic

David Wishart – 20 A.D. to about 45 A.D. during the reigns of Tiberius, Caligula & Claudius.

Jay Cardam – Set during the reign of Nero

Robert Colton – Set during the reign of Nero

Lindsey Davis – 70 A.D. -100 A.D. Roman Empire during the reign of Vespasian, Titus and Domitian.

Albert A. Bell Jr. – Roman Empire during the reign of Domitian.

Bruce MacBain – set in the reign of Trajan

Rosemary Rowe – 185 A.D. to 195 A.D. Roman Empire set in Britain.

Alan Scribner – 158 A.D. at the time of Antonius Pius

Ben Pastor – 5th Century A.D.
